Packaging makes a difference to what you pay for shipping.
A lot of the time, overseas online stores tend to place your orders in huge boxes with Styrofoam or bubble-pack filling (since these are domestic deliveries for them), increasing the size of the overall package and therefore the volumetric weight.
And for USA, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia and Indonesia our shipping charges are based on chargeable weight – volumetric weight or actual weight, whichever is higher. So you might be paying more when you don’t have to.
As per freight industry practice, the chargeable weight of a package is calculated based on Volumetric or Actual weight, whichever is higher.
Packaging makes a difference to what you pay for shipping. Not to worry, though! Our repacking services help you save on shipping costs. When these huge packages arrive at our warehouse, we will assess them – if their volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight by more than 2kg, we will send them for repacking.
(Note: We will not be able to cut down all sides of the package, though; this is not a gift packaging service, as much as we want to!)
There are also packages which are specially packed by the merchants to ensure breakable items are cushioned. These are potentially bulky and the difference between actual and volumetric weight may be higher. We will take into account such instances and repack only when the safety of the package will not be compromised.
At its lowest cost, repacking costs only $6. We promise you will still save even after this.
